Sign Up Follow-Up
According to the proposed timeline, this telecollaborative project will initially be available to only two classroom teachers as they pilot the program in its first session. Following this trial period, the project will be available to teachers in the Howard County Public School System and will be advertised through the online Collaborative Learning Community (CLC). Using a Google Form, teachers will be able to sign up using a simple survey (see below) that collects information necessary for program coordinators to begin establishing a network of classrooms. The form will become live in February before the project begins in March. There will be a deadline one week before the start date.
Once teachers sign up, the program coordinators will send an email confirming receipt of their information. When registration closes, the program coordinators will match the teachers together to form collaborative pairs. They will then notify teachers of their partnered classroom and provide contact information. Once contact information is shared, the rest of the project will be left to the individual teachers. The program coordinators will provide guidelines and information to support teachers as they participate in the project, while maintaining communication through the teacher support blog, Teacher Zone.
After the project has been tested in the HCPSS community, sign up will take place online using the nonprofit collaborative network, iEARN, or International Education and Resource Network. This network will create partnerships between teachers in order to alleviate the responsibility of the program coordinators and open the project to the public.
